Geriatric Counseling, Inc., (GCI) is a human services oriented business engaged in providing various care services.  The primary purpose of the company is to provide mental health/behavioral health services to residents who reside in sub-acute hospital settings and to assist them and their families with this difficult time.  We are a Medical Management Service Organization, (MMSO) for contracted therapists who provide psychological evaluations and counseling to residents of nursing homes, long term care facilities, residential care facilities, assisted living centers and acute hospital patients.

We contract with hospitals and facilities that desire the presence of a licensed mental health professional to assist their residents and their residents' family members with adjustment problems, depression/anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral issues, physical disorders and family issues that often lead to psychological and emotional stress.

Our philosophy is based on a non-medical approach to compassionate behavioral health and mental health treatment.  For this reason we are constantly in search of licensed clinical psychologists to assist us in providing direct and indirect clinical services to the residents, their families and consultation to the staff members of our contracted facilities.

The GCI program generates a significant provider income supplement and is designed to be extremely flexible. Consequently an increment of treatment hours can be effectively inserted into virtually any practice with normal daytime business hours available. The utilization of mental health/behavioral health interventions in the treatment of the often neglected geriatric population can be a rewarding experience personally, professionally and financially.  If your are a licensed health professional with at least six (6) treatment hours per week available, then our program provides a great opportunity for you to make a significant difference in the lives of this often under treated population and earn a significant income.

Our philosophy includes a serious commitment to staff and family education and support.  This means that staff members are regularly afforded access to the GCI information network which presents itself through In-Service training seminars and constant direct contact with key personnel throughout the facility.

On-site administrative management at the facilities as well as all insurance carrier billing, collection, reporting and negotiating are at the province of GCI.  This enables you to maximize efficiency by spending the majority of your time assessing and treating the residents.  The costly business aspects of operating a financially sound practice are provided by GCI.

EDUCATION

We will train you to work in the field of geriatrics in skilled nursing and long term care; assessing and treating seniors and other patients coping with mental health concerns & acute medical problems. Our educational component ensures that referrals for psycho-therapeutic assessment and treatment of these residents and/or their family members, which are always initiated by licensed facility staff members, are warranted and in the best interest of the resident.

• Flexible hours - Set your own schedule during the work week.
• Highly competitive wages - Earn hourly rates that average $60 per hour.  Actual income depends on the mix of procedures performed in any given day.
• Earn between $700 to $1000 monthly for working only 1/2 day per week.
