RESIDENT BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS

 

Nursing homes and long-term care facility settings have a very high rate of Resident behavioral problems.

When a Resident is displaying emotional and/or behavioral problems what you are actually seeing is only the Tip of The Iceberg.

An underlying emotional issue will eventually manifest in a problematic behavior. Depression, anxiety, and cognitive dysfunction are usually the causes of these difficult behaviors.

Clinical psychologists are professionally trained to identify and treat these emotional and behavioral problems utilizing a non-medical approach.

By assessing challenging Residents, GCI’s psychologists can identify and implement realistic approaches to treating the issues provide critical documentation for the specific care plan item(s).

We collaborate with your IDT staff to appropriately and effectively respond to these difficult behaviors by identifying and addressing the underlying problems before psychoactive medications are attempted.

Formal documentation and care planning with staff ensure corrective actions will be taken on how to approach, communicate and provide care to these difficult Residents.
