CLINICAL TRAINING

We will train you to work in the field of geriatrics in skilled nursing and long term care; assessing and treating seniors and other patients coping with mental health concerns & acute medical problems (Health Medicine).  Providing mental health/health medicine interventions in these environments can be very challenging without the proper training and guidance.  Skilled nursing and long term care facilities are very heavily regulated by State and Federal Agencies.  We built these regulations into our programs from our inception and this separates us from our competitors.

Our educational component ensures that referrals for psycho-therapeutic assessment and treatment of these Residents and/or their family members, which are always initiated by licensed facility staff members, are warranted and in the best interest of the Resident.

Assessment, testing and therapeutic interventions require meticulous documentation.  Unlike broken bones which can be seen on an x-ray, mental health issues require documentation which clearly shows the need for service and appropriate interventions.  Our Assessment Form (GCI Form A-10) and Chart Note forms (GCI Form a-12) were developed in conjunction with State and Federal regulations in mind.  Like with every new job there is a learning curve.  We have designed our system of delivery to make it possible to feel a comprehensive understanding right from the start.

Depending on your professional experience and previous training we will meet with you to provide "Orientation" and training based on your unique individual needs and requirements.

Our services and programs are designed to be simple to understand and easy to learn.  Every clinician who works with us will undergo individual on-site training in assessment, care planning, charting techniques/documentation and our required paper work.

Working in skilled nursing and long term care facilities throughout the country since 1990, we have become the industry leader in our field.  The training you will receive will include the following areas of importance:
